Another feature at RPG is an Asheron's Call Q&A, where they put this question to the dev team: "Based on your personal preferences as a gamer, what is the most significant difference in Asheron's Call 2 Fallen Kings compared to the original"? This is how Ken Troop answers:
The biggest difference as a gamer between AC1 and AC2 for me is the skill systems. AC1 is a great game, and a lot of players love being able to mix and match different sets of skills to various effects, but I enjoy playing the role of a class as opposed to choosing a random collection of skills. AC2 isn't a true class system, but the depth and complexity of its skill trees make me jazzed as a gamer to be able to play roles more in AC2 than was possible in AC1. It's amazing what a title that has gameplay connotations, such as a Sage or a Ranger can do to fire up my imagination as I play a RPG. |
