Ugh, this one is gonna be controversial ;) . Gamers Depot has reviewed Arkane's/JoWood's underworld RPG 'Arx Fatalis', rating the game at a mere 2.5 out of 6 drips.
Here's a snip:Lack of creativity for each item is probably one of the biggest drawbacks of the game. Arx Fatalis allows players to run into many different uncertain items that may or may not have a purpose in the game. Regrettably, items that don’t serve any real purpose in the game really have no other function than to be thrown around for distraction. Being able to do something to items however, is a good idea, but each item should have more than one function, even if that other function is simply the ability to throw the item at an enemy to do some sort of damage. There’s no point in making an item functional if its meaning is only to be thrown around. |
