The Gamers Press has posted a review of Jeff Vogel's Avernum 2 and has rated it quite well with 8/10 points:

So, in short, if you’re looking for a lovingly crafted old-school RPG, you need look no farther than Spiderweb’s Avernum 2. You’ll get hours and hours of entertainment out of this game, and it won’t burn a hole in your wallet either. If you want bug lists, countless patches, and unfinished code, then go plunk down $50 for one of the major publishers million-dollar titles. However, if want a product that is truly worthy of the gaming community’s investment, then it's sitting right at Spiderweb Software's website and it's name is Avernum 2. Give the demo a shot - you’ll be happy you did!
