FileFront has posted a conversation with NPCube's Stephane Quilichini about their Ultra-Massive MMO, 'Dark and Light'. Here's a snip from the interview:
Q: I have to ask. There are so many persistent state RPGs on the horizon for gamers. No one has time to play them all. What does Dark and Light have up its sleeve that is going to make it compete with the heavy hitters such as World of Warcraft and Ultima X: Odyssey?

SQ: DnL with its technology is more than a classical MMORPG. The management of a huge and unique world for our entire player population enables us to open new horizons in gaming. Players can follow “exploration skills” in parallel with others ways like fight and craft skills. Some areas of the game are more arcade than RPG. But every one is free to do what he wants and change his rhythm (changing between speed action like fighting and slower speed action like exploration or other things) when he decides to. This is the reason why we aren’t going head-to-head against the two giants of the video game industry: WOW and ULTIMA, as we believe we will attract new specific players to DnL.
