The Wargamer today has posted up a review of the Throne of Bhaal expansion to Baldurs Gate 2. Like all others, it heralds the game as not just any old expansion, but one that shines above the rest. Heres a little bit from the review:

The gameplay in Baldur’s Gate II: Throne of Bhaal is great. First there is the addition of the new mage character kit, the Wild Mage. Wild magic, the specialty of these new characters, is considered a byproduct of the Time of Troubles and is known for its unpredictable effects. What makes this kit interesting is that you never know what will happen next. Every time a wild mage casts a spell his spellcasting level will vary anywhere from five levels lower to five levels higher than his normal level. In addition to this, there is also a 5% chance that a wild surge will occur and one of 100 possible effects will randomly occur. These effects include changing the caster’s sex, having a cow fall on the target, changing the combat music, and causing it to suddenly start snowing.
