Today, Sony Online Entertainment announced that it would be releasing the EverQuest Titanium Edition in January. This collection includes the original EverQuest and the first ten expansion packs. Additionally, SoE announced that it will be opening a new game-integrated web site, EQ Players, which will contain the profiles of all 4.9 million EverQuest characters currently on file. Players will be able to use the web site to get character stats, item information, and other in-game information. The site will be free for a limited time, but interested players will eventually have to pay to keep using the site. Finally, in an effort to promote these recent developments, Sony will be reactivating closed EverQuest accounts for 21 days so players who've left the fold can experiment with the new site and content. See the press release for full details. There's also a discussion thread going about EQPlayers.com at the official forums.
