Another day, another MMORPG; at least that’s what it seems like these days, as publishers seem to be taking advantage of how hot persistent-world games are for players. Though as more games in this genre come out, it seems as if each game is just more of the game: grinding to higher levels, upgrading your character with cool new armor/weapons, getting more spells, then rinse and repeat. MMORPGs just haven’t provided enough reason to sink more and more money into the various titles that are coming out in the genre. The Saga of Ryzom aims to be different from the rest of the crowd; by creating an original sci-fi/fantasy hybrid of a universe, and having a unique character development system. Does the game succeed at bringing enough variety to the MMORPG table to warrant a serious time/money investment? Well, that’s what a final review will have to answer; I can only provide my thoughts on the game in its current state.
