Games Domain has kicked up a preview of Icewind Dale II. It's hands-on, based on the press copy that has recently shipped to many gaming sites around the globe.

Here's a bit:
There are still plenty of new things here. The interface hasn't changed much, but the character portraits have been moved to the bottom of the screen, which leaves more viewing area. They've revamped character generation and the rules to include everything new and different in D&D's 3rd Edition. You can even roll up a Dark Elf player character and virtually every class and combination is possible now, including new kits like the Votary Paladin and even oddball races like Teiflings and Deep Gnomes (which apparently aren't into discussing Emmanuel Kant). There are 300 spells, some new to the series, and many brand new magic items. The hardcore Heart of Fury mode (no saving, amongst other things) is making its return to the series, and there'll be magic items and goodies only available in that mode.
