Driving the improvements is the new EQII graphics engine. The game world is a lot better looking now, and so are the models. The engine makes light work of eyelashes, flowing robes, hair, even spookily realistic eyes. Boats in the game roll realistically aloft textured waves as their sails billow, wood textures look grainy and real, and spell effects light the immediate vicinity. Water effects are impressive, with the game demos showing a rippling moat and a cascading waterfall with equal aplomb. Tonnes of new, mostly minor, animations exist, making the world seem much more dynamic and alive.
