PC Paradox has written a preview of Morrowind. Here's a bit:
When walking around Morrowind, players can easily realize Bethseda meant to give players their freedom. There are hundreds of hours available in Morrowind, but players have to find it. Players control characters' future. They could follow the line of only the main quest and finish Morrowind in a matter of hours. Or players can look for every secret and try to open every box, consuming every detail of Morrowind's potential. But this is the fun of having such a deep role-playing game - players can play it differently every time.
After three years of development, one would think Morrowind's graphics would be outdated. Yet Bethseda has proven us once wrong that Morrowind's graphics aren't ancient - they're only aged to maturity. Morrowind's animations and models are smooth and realistic. Its environments are extraordinarily detailed and rich. And its engine isn't very demanding. Through use of a system of short loadings, players are given as much detail as possible without losing interest. This ultimately provides players with endless boundaries with a modest performance price. |
