Moving right along...our next stop is over at GameSpy's award page for the upcoming Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth...

Horror games are few and far between because it's tough to get that sense of back-of-the-neck dread that comes as a result of something unseen, slowly creeping up on you from the shadows, in a medium where it's possible to pause the game. Imagine a game, then, that not only manages to get that freaky feeling, but manages to do it in a fast-moving first-person shooter? That's one of the many reasons we're excited about Call of Cthulhu. It's an FPS, sure, but it's not one where your Counter-Strike twitch skills are going to make you unstoppable. You'll be outnumbered and outgunned by creatures from the edge of nightmare -- some of which are so big that they're simply immune to bullets. There's no HUD, so you'll never know how close to death you are -- or how wounded an opponent is.
