Games First have a lukewarm preview on the Baldur's Gate II expansion Throne of Bhaal. While, ostensibly, BGII: ToB has been designed as an end to the story, it appears to me that this expansion really adds a bunch more hack-n-slash to an already combat heavy game. You’ll meet more and smarter dragons – dragon AI has been modified to defeat many of the already proven dragon-killing tactics. Also you’ll get to fight some super bad monsters like Demigorgon. A warm review on the Diablo II expansionThis expansion looks like the game Diablo II should have been. Diablo II is a nearly pure action game. You kill, kill, and kill some more. Therefore, much of the depth-of-play comes from character class and equipment. With this add-on, the range of possible combination of said variables increases magnificently and should provide enough variety, along with eye-candy, to satisfy. Blizzard never says when their games are to be released, but I’d look for this title in June, and when it comes out you can bet that I’ll be crouched over my computer, fighting. A promising preview on the recently announced Star Wars: Knights of the Old RepublicSitting down in a cramped room, a large screen in front of me, a few programmers--after telling me not to tape anything or shoot pictures--said they were debuting a new RPG title, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. This game, teaming the Star Wars name with the RPG guys over at Bioware, will make tons of money, regardless of the quality of play. And a hot preview on ArcanumThis is my favorite title from E3. The more I think about it, the more excited I get. As I’ve been sold on it, I imagine that I’ll be on the lookout for flaws once it comes out. This game has got a good buzz and will therefore have to withstand tough scrutiny. I can’t wait to being the scrutinizing.
