Cabal had this to say on the Lionheart forum:Multi player
Yes there will be a multiplayer component to the game. Currently, we're planning to support LAN and internet play through the main storyline with three people. We're currently working out the kinks so any of this is subject to change, but the plan is that each player controls a character that is important to the story, so there is not one 'main' character. Each person can initiate dialogue, get quests, and the other characters will be able to see this dialogue in real-time.
Item manipulation
I believe you're talking about the modron toy in Torment, or maybe the intelligent sword in BG2. We can do what you're talking about in Lionheart, where it makes sense. Like an object or weapon is endowed with some sentience. I suppose since spirits can inhabit people or inanimate objects in LH, this could be very possible.
Disjunction Earth
In Lionheart's world, England, Scotland, Wales all fragmented into a sprawling chain of islands. Unfortunately, Ireland took the brunt of the damage and sank entirely (much as it pains me to write that). While England controls the bulk of these islands and subjugated many of the people, there are forces that oppose them and seek to regain control of their ancestral lands. The Celtic tribes took to the sea to become a united maritine people, using many of the hundreds of newly created uninhabited small islands (formed from the Disjunction) as bases to launch attacks against English ships. The dangers around these waters have forced England to assign a compliment of wizards as part of a standard saling crew
As for China...Let's just say that the term Celestial Kingdom is very approproate for Lionheart's China, and that the country went through some dramatic changes since the Disjunction. Unlike the west, the people of China generally do not fear the spirits, in fact, many of the more powerful ones are revered...Now, that being said, most of the action in Lionheart takes place in Western Europe, but it's altogether possible that emissaries from far away countries might come to Europe and could talk to you about their homelands...
Uber Perks
The uber perks are faction specific. As you rise through the ranks of a faction, you gain access to these uber perks. We were toying around with the idea that the most powerful uber-perks would need to be taught by a master of the faction, but this is still under discussion.
To answer your second question in a vague sort of way, there will be character altering situations you can encounter depending on how you handle some conflicts.
Becoming a wizard basher
This is very possible. You could join the Inquisition and be against the wizards. You can also be an Inquisitor and cast spells if you desire.
The factions are not classes, they represent the allegiances you join, and will provide you with various boons, intrigues, and quests, but they don't dictate your character's development.
As Draconis mentioned, we are not assigning alignments or good or evil tags on any of the factions you can join. It is up to you to decide who is good, bad, worthy of your loyalty or scorn, who is saved and who is punished. (am i getting too dramatic?) I think you get the picture.
Humour
For Lionheart, expect about a 76.3% humor percentage, with a 25% margin for error.
I am a fan of appropriately used humor. While we won't be showing satyr plays after tragic events or hurling Monty Python references at you, there will be some situational humor sprinkled gingerly throughout the game. |
