This one slipped past us last week - PC.IGN has their own hands-on experiences with Factions:So what do you get for your hard-earned dollars? Well, co-founder Jeff Strain tells us that the land of Cantha is about two-thirds the size of the current continent but contains a denser layer of content; more stuff to do per virtual square mile. Furthermore, it's not just more Guild Wars -- the land of Cantha is coated in a thick layer of Asian artistic influence, from the urban pagodas of the capital cities to the hours of music courtesy of Grammy award-winning musician Jeremy Soule; he said he traveled some 70,000 miles to research and record various instruments, from the obvious to the obscure. We're also told that Arena.net plans to release two campaigns a year, with another scheduled for release this fall. That sounds like a lot of work, even for 100 or so people, but there will be two separate teams on an overlapping development timeline. |
