TeamXbox has a hands-on preview of the Xbox version of Cauldren's Conan:
As mentioned previously, the main quest is a single-player only experience, primarily focusing on action hack-n-slash gameplay with adventure and RPG elements sprinkled in to round things out. Expect plenty of enemies (and we mean plenty) for Conan to chop down to size, and the a good deal of puzzles and traps for the adventurer in you. The game’s levels are separated into chapters, just like that of a Robert E. Howard novel. The controls of Conan focus on the A and B buttons as the primary means of attack. Initially, Conan only has simple slashes as part of his repertoire, but skill points are earned by killing enemies which can be used to acquire new moves and combinations. Conan can level up in each ability up to three times. Some combos are as simple as three taps of the A button, or can be as complex as using the A, B, and Right Trigger button in succession. There is a handy-dandy listing of each ability in the menu screen along with an animations showing how each one is performed. My particular favorite is the Bloody Whirlwind, but with over 50 abilities to choose from, every gamer will find something to their liking. Each ability uses a certain amount of Conan’s stamina while also causing a particular amount of damage to the enemy. Stamina is regained in small amounts naturally or by picking up vials to fully recover.
