With a nearly perfect score of 9/10, the review of Baldur's Gate 2 - Throne of Bhaal is another one that gives the game a lot of praise. This is a part from the rather short review:

Throne of Bhaal will call on all the things you learned playing the previous titles. Strategies will be needed, plans will need to be made - but the nice thing is, if you need to rest and regain spells or change your spell memorizations - the main character has a new ability - the Pocket Plane ability. The Pocket plane is you new "stronghold". It has places for you to store items, your own personal servant that can upgrade weapons and equipment, and it also has several areas that you are required to explore and challenges contained within that you must overcome. Another feature that the pocket plane has, is the ability to summon any NPC from Shadows of Amn. Players creating new characters will have the opportunity to recruit any of their old friends if they didn't import a saved game. Doing so will grant the NPC's experience boosts to the 2.5 million minimum when they join your party. Also, if you start a new character - you are provided with an assortment of items and a bag of holding.
