Over at Gamer's Pulse, you can find a new review of Icewind Dale 2. Their rating is 35/50(?), and they state that the game is "above average". Here's their conclusion:
To sum up, I have to say that Icewind Dale 2 is a very good game. However, the answer to the questions I asked in the beginning of this review is glaring me right in the face as I finish writing this. Black Isle did one heck of a job on this game. They did do a fairly decent port of the 3rd Edition rules. It’s definitely worth picking up and will supply you with hours of adventuring and it's obviously popular enough by judging its sales. Though, one simple fact remains constant. The engine is truly showing its age. When you have the options of buying or playing a game like Neverwinter Nights or a vast number of new RPG’s that are coming out or are on the market today, this may possibly one of the Infinite Engine’s last stand. But it’s definitely a stand worth checking out.
