There is a review of Pillars of Garenfall at PCGameCentral (in contrary to what RPGVault says, it isn't the first one on the net, there has been another review at GamerPulse last month). The review rates the game 64%, and their final paragraph reads like this:
There isn't really a whole lot that you haven't seen before in P.o.G., but what is there is fairly enjoyable if you aren't expecting a game with a lot of depth like Baldurs Gate. This is the kind of game that you might want to play if you are looking for a classic easy to play console game of yesteryear. Also it doesn't hurt that the game is only $25. Casual gamers will feel right at home with this one, but hardcore rpg gamers may want to steer clear of this one. There is a lot to do in the game, but I was left feeling a bit depraved of excitement in the game, and the repetition of killing every monster by clicking on them till they die can make the game grow old quickly. The game is fairly long and the world is pretty big, but I wasn't really motivated to explore every part of it. If you don't go into this game expecting a masterpiece in game design, you just may find yourself enjoying the P.o.G. experience.
