Gone Gold has some reviews up today, one of them concerning Evil Islands (a game released in Europe quit some time ago). In their review, they once again say this game is way too difficult (and I totally agree), but the rating (80%) and their final conclusion is fairly positive:

With their latest offering Nival and Fishtank have brought a fairly good, if not somewhat generic, Computer Role Playing Game to the table. Evil Islands capitalizes on past ideas and shows very good execution on the developer's part. Also, what new things it does bring, item and spell creation for example, are excellent features that I hope will be implemented in future games. So, while not breaking down any doors, Evil Islands walks through a lot of them and offers a good gaming experience to boot.

BTW, check our "at a glance page" for a fan made patch that tunes down the difficulty more, and adds some new features as well...
