Gamesradar has published a preview of Star Was: KotOR for the XBox. Here's a snip:
Combat is carried out in a way that escapes comparison with any other game. Even though you're running around swinging the lightsaber in a way that looks arcadey, it's not really an action system – it's based instead on the classic D&D 20-sided dice. Weapons are only drawn when threats are present, so you can't go around hacking anybody and everybody. Also, the two characters following will only kick off with whatever action you've set them (like 'use blaster' or a certain Force skill). When you need a more complex attack sequence (a combination of actions), you can simply select that character and select the sequence for them. It's a unique system and we'll let you know whether or not it works in an upcoming review.

As with most RPGs, your character develops over the course of the adventure, but Knights does it differently. Your character can evolve into a Jedi or a Sith. This is meant to be a representation of how you yourself would end up, based on your reactions. In conversation, you have multiple responses (five for each line of chatter), some good, some neutral and some bad. Start picking hateful, aggressive responses and you'll end up leaning towards the dark side; be nice and you'll be filled with light. You can also make huge steps towards either of the robes by killing/saving people or completing multiple-path tasks in differing ways. Do things quickly, easily and thoughtlessly, and you're heading towards evil.
