Pong, Defender, Mortal Kombat and Gauntlet are all very familiar names to anyone who knows the history of video games. Along with Joust, Paperboy, Rampage, Marble Madness, Spy Hunter, NARC and others too numerous to list, including various sequels, they established Midway Games as a dominant force in the arcade sector and era. Within the past year or two, the Chicago-based developer and publisher has also emerged as a visible contender in the home segment, releasing an assortment of titles for the PC, PS2, Xbox, GameCube and Game Boy Advance platforms, some examples of note being NFL Blitz, The Suffering, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, Shadow Hearts: Covenant, Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict and recent Area 51. During this same period, the company has been expanding its operations, an indication that we should keep watch for much more to come.
