After just seven months, World of Warcraft is number one in the US, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. It's barely even launched in China, and Taiwan and Hong Kong will follow later this year -- in other words, this is just the start. Even Everquest, the granddaddy of successful online RPGs, barely hovered around the 450,000 mark at the height of its popularity. That was big news back in 2001. |
