PC.IGN shacked up with the guys from Turbine in a small room at E3 and were given a tour through the game. While the increased level of detail in the engine was really impressive, Jason showed us a model of the new Gear Knight complete with all of the GeForce3 effects that the engine is going to support. Not only did we see some of the new dynamic real-time lighting and shadow work, but also wowed us with per-pixel lighting, environment mapping, and multi-layer animation effects. As if the model wasn't enough, Jason pulled it into the demo and showed us the Gear Knight moving around the environment, complete with accompanied rattling gear sounds. All in all it was a pretty impressive demo.
