Disappointed!

Well, BD is definitely differnt from Divine Divinity, so in my opinion, the change of the name from Riftrunner to BD was counterproductive. Despite the flaws BD has, I enjoyed playing BD

The tactical combat is a good step in the right direction. There is still a lot to do/improve but there is a big shortage of RPG at the moment so...enjoy BD

It's good to see someone introducing original elements to a 'sequel'. Apart from the overly specific skill system, this game is a very enjoyable challenge!

What could be a great game is ruined by appalling bugs and crashes. I have twice had to start the game over due to showstoppers in Act II, and I don't have the heart to do it a third time

Faralas has rated 8/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Faralas)

Bugs aside, Beyond Divinity successfully blends hack 'n slash action together with a rich, quest driven storyline making it a diverse RPG. Larian was able to create a game that appeals to two different types of gamers. That's an ambitious feat unto itself. I highly recommend it.

The game is now pure hack'n'slash. The storyline and gameplay is straightforward. I must say that I made 2 acts out of 5 only. Can not force myself to start act 3.

Haven't played the first one, but this is a really fine RPG. I first had the fear it would be just another boring Diablo clone, but it isn't. OK, the combat system goes the Hack&Slash direction but the 'true' RPG parts are far more.

that game is cool

Great game but not greater than Divine Divinity

Battlefields were a lame attempt to help the pacing of your characters level progression with the storyline, and the skill system should have stayed true to DD. Dull one trick pony player characters are not interesting even if you have two to spread skills over. Having said that, I might replay this one for the supposed "good" story, but Dhruin will receive my wrath if that part is as shoddy as the rest of it ;)

I still enjoyed it, but the magic of Divine Divinity was gone. This one was much more linear than the first. The ability to explore almost the entire Divine Divinity world before pursuing major quests was one thing I loved. Beyond Divinity does not have this.
