TenTonHammer has kicked up some first impressions from playing 'Guild Wars'.One of the most anticipated games of 2005, Guild Wars had its first large public appearance during a public E3 event in which hundreds of thousands of eager fans participated. Often touted as being an online RPG offering new and unique concepts that significantly differentiate it from other MMORPGs, it calls itself a CORPG - a Competitive Online Role-Playing Game. ArenaNet, the developers of Guild Wars, stated that they wanted to take out the grinding and time investment elements of other MMORPGS, instead rewarding active player skill and understanding of the game mechanics. Their talented staff, some of which have worked on major Blizzard titles, in essence set out to right what they thought was wrong with other games, and to make something truly fun. |
