|
Arcanum - Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura: 9/10 points |
The atmosphere of this game was great. Although it wasn't quite up to Fallout's standards. |
Avernum 2: 10/10 points |
Big game developers could learn some things from this game. It reminded me of how much I enjoyed the Ultimas. |
Baldur's Gate: 7/10 points |
A good story and game, but I made the mistake of playing BG 2 before this one. I'm glad they made so many improvements in BG 2 over BG 1. |
Baldur's Gate - Tales of the Sword Coast: 7/10 points |
As far as expansions go it was better than Heart of Winter. |
Baldur's Gate 2 - Shadows of Amn: 10/10 points |
My first introduction to the AD&D rules. Very well done. :-) |
Baldur's Gate 2 - Throne of Bhaal: 9/10 points |
A great ending to the series. Although I felt it was a little too short when compared with how long it took to complete BG 2. |
Blade of Darkness: 8/10 points |
Stunning graphics and fun hack n' slash gameplay. This is as close as I get to shooters. |
Diablo: 8/10 points |
I admit it, I was addicted. I liked it more than Diablo 2. I still love the town music. |
Diablo - Hellfire: 5/10 points |
Not the greatest expansion pack I've ever seen. :-/ |
Diablo 2: 5/10 points |
Same concept. Boring after the first time through it. The reason I won it was to see the cutscenes. |
Fallout - A Post Nuclear Adventure: 10/10 points |
I still play this game! |
Fallout 2: 10/10 points |
Everything the original was and a whole lot more. |
Fallout Tactics - The Brotherhood of Steel: 7/10 points |
I played it as a tactical combat game (not expecting mind blowing RPG goodness) and found this game quite enjoyable. |
Geneforge: 10/10 points |
The graphics may be dated to look at (Ultima 6/7) but the challenging gameplay is great. The monster AI is believable and what you say to NPCs actually effects the game world. I also like the fact that I can choose *not* to save the world. I've found my little genetic minions to be far more useful than my familiar and summoned animals were in BG 2. There's also a larger variety. Now if I could only get them to carry all my loot...
This game proves you don't need bells, whistles and eye-candy to make a truely great game. Just make it fun and challenging! |
Gothic: 10/10 points |
A break-through game in many ways! |
Heretic 2: 7/10 points |
A solid game. Too bad I never finished it. Shooters never were my cup of tea. |
Icewind Dale: 6/10 points |
Entertaining the first time through, but sadly, this game is a one-trick pony. |
Icewind Dale - Heart of Winter: 6/10 points |
Rather disappointing. For $30 I was expecting more. Excellent music though. |
Icewind Dale - Heart of Winter: Trials of the Luremaster: 5/10 points |
This should have been included in my Heart of Winter box. |
Neverwinter Nights: 9/10 points |
Single-player? Blah! Multiplayer, DM Tools and the Toolset? This game's saving grace. Many of the user made mods are great! |
Planescape: Torment: 10/10 points |
Best story ever told in a CRPG. |
Quest for Glory 1 - So You Want to be a Hero?: 10/10 points |
I loved this game! The humor and fun factor really made this game enjoyable. |
Quest for Glory 2 - Trial by Fire: 10/10 points |
I loved this series. I've always liked my games to have humor and this one delivers. The "intermission" and the dream the character has in the Rasier hotel had me rolling on the ground laughing. |
Quest for Glory 3 - Wages of War: 10/10 points |
Yet another great addition to the series. It's the only game I've played that let you fend off starvation by eating a hallucination. :-D |
Quest for Glory 4 - Shadows of Darkness: 9/10 points |
What is the most important element? PIZZA! Too bad the bugs made liking this one as much as the rest of the series a challenge. Still, it had a great story. And having vampires is always a plus. ;-) |
Quest for Glory 5 - Dragon Fire: 8/10 points |
Sadly, the last of the Qfg games. It wasn't quite as good as it's predecessors (maxing skills was too easy), but it did a good job of wrapping up one of my favorite series. |
Stonekeep: 6/10 points |
Not the best RPG I've ever played. I just couldn't get into it. |
Ultima 3 - Exodus: 8/10 points |
This game helped pave the way for what made the Ultima series great. |
Ultima 4 - Quest of the Avatar: 10/10 points |
This game is what role-playing is all about. It made morality and reputation a part major part of the game world. It was refreshing not having to kill a big bad guy in the end to save the world. |
Ultima 5 - Warriors of Destiny: 9/10 points |
This is Ultima's glory days. Although I was admittedly ticked off when I had to go all the way back to get that idiot sandlewood box! GAH!! I'll never make a mistake like that again. |
Ultima 6 - The False Prophet: 9/10 points |
Again, another solid Ultima game. This is the stuff that got me hooked on RPGs. |
Ultima 7 - Serpent Isle (Sequel): 10/10 points |
They took what was great in Ultima 7 and polished to a beautiful shine in this game. |
Ultima 7 - The Black Gate: 10/10 points |
Almost as good as Ultima 4. An excellent example of what makes the Ultima series classic. |
Ultima 8 - Pagan: 6/10 points |
A unique setting, but it just wasn't Britannia. The jumping puzzles were also an unpleasent suprise. :-P |
Ultima 9 - Ascension: 7/10 points |
Enjoyable after patching, but I don't feel that it really lives up to the Ultima name. |
Wizardry 8: 7/10 points |
My first introduction to the Wizardry series. A really great game. It's too bad we probably won't see any more. |
