RPGVault has posted a preview of Neocron, CDV's futurama MMORPG:When your character first arrives in Neocron, it is in its own apartment, which can vary considerably in location and décor depending on the character created. All apartments offer secure storage; no one can enter without your permission. As for the city, it includes four main areas. Via Rosso is a safe, clean district containing the luxurious penthouse apartments of the wealthy. The Plaza is another secure area, an active commercial zone with most of the city's major trading establishments. Both of these are well patrolled by ruthless CopBots that maintain peace on behalf of the ruling military dictatorship. On the other hand, Pepper Park is home to various nightlife establishments as well as the aforementioned NeoFrag arcades. Both it and the seedy Outzone are loosely policed areas where trouble can lurk around any dark corner. Below much of the city is a system of sewers. Including them and the outlying Wastelands, Neocron is expected to launch with around 70 zones, perhaps more. There is provision for the game to expand by adding the other two cities, York and Tokyo II, and even the two space colonies, Red Terra II and Irata III, found in the game fiction. |
