There is a Q&A with Black Isle Line Producer, Kevin Osburn about the XBox version of Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (it was previously released for PS2, and it is a nice "chop-chop-chop" game for consoles). Here's a bit:
XBD: Graphically, what changes are Snowblind Studios making to take advantage of the Xbox`s strengths?
Kevin Believe it or not we are probably going to be able to improve the water effects in the game. The lead and engine programmer of Snowblind Studios, Ezra Dreisbach is going to try and add a specular bump map to the surface of the water, which could make it more jaw-dropping than it already is :) Other than that, we probably won’t do much else graphically to the game. Since we accomplished everything we set out for with the PS2 version, we have decided to focus on other issues of the game we feel it needs, particularly balancing. |
