Elder Scrolls 3 - Morrowind: 1/10 points |
Oh my god, i was so terrified the first time i installed this game. All those brilliant scores. But after the first impression, i was shocked. The story is followed via the little brown text box, should look like wooden, but reminds of brown shit. Whats total freedom worth , if a normal walk in your own real home forrest is more entertaining. The fights are so lame, I had better ones in ultima underworld. The famous debt is only in such terms as you have thousand different items with a little picture, but in gameplay there is no remarkable difference, so, they could have cut them by 97%. All this attention just because of this FX Demo!! Oh my god, where have all the true RPG players gone, is all the worlds fate now to the square-minded youngsters?? My score: TTT - Test it, Think, Thrash!!! |
Elder Scrolls 3 - Morrowind: 10/10 points |
Atfer having evaluated Morrowind, I had to compete it a lot to Gothic 2, I have to revise my first comment.
Morrowind is a true CRPG, in all its epic content.
But sadly this is only revealed to those, who are willing to play into both game stories, this means you have to play both CRPGs at least for 50 hours. But then both CRPG reveal their true nature to you. While MW is tenacious in its first, Gothic 2 tries to catch the players attention. From the first steps onward character Leveling is possible right away, just after killing a view beasts, kickstart dude!! Players do get all the goodies right away to keep them satisfied. This leads to toward the fact, that a lot of players have favored Gothic 2.
But IF you are willing to overcome MWs crippling start, youll see the difference. No matter what you compare, the dungeons, the fights, the monsters, the equipment, the landscape, the music, the, the, the... MW scores. And more, certainly you realize the steam beneath the hood, that MW has more power than you could every imagine from Gothic 2. How simple G2 is, how unprofessional, you feel the difference, what a game is worth when 20 peolpe are working on it for maybe 2 years, or 50 people are working on it for 3 years, just like MW!
But how can so much players guess so wrong?
Maybe no one got so much time anymore to play, to ninvest just 50 hours when another game seems to offer at least the same addiction. But if you will decide on this, you'll miss the BEST CRPG so far in the world, Morrowind. MW is the Rolls Royce, while Gothic 2 is simply a Volkswagen. Try it! |
Fable: The Lost Chapters: 7/10 points |
7 for Fable, and it could be lucky! First, this impressive atmosphere, gfx-wonderbra, orchestral music, eye-candy, ear-candy, all-candy.....? The first steps within the fabulous world of Fable are wonderful, the first big enemy, a bee, makes you love that game. Everything seems to be to good. But step by step you wake up and recognize the frontiers you wont cross with Fable. Deep storyline, no, absolut freedom like morrorwind, no, intelligent npc's , no, evolving and dynamic storyline, no....and did I finish the game? no. Just before the iceworld, the gate, I made my last steps and didnt finish Fable, ...just because I didnt want it to end, which would be one of the most arguable reasons not to play it, because it is definitely to short. Imagine how Lord of the Rings by Pete Jackson would have been, ..in just 30 minutes! If you can handle this, try it, but dont expect a deep dark and gloomy story, but you'll get a lot of candy, just how future epic RPGs will hopefully hit us. |
Gothic: 10/10 points |
for all those who have gotten desperated because of Morrorwind |
Heroes of Might & Magic 4: 7/10 points |
Hmm, let me say, I think the game is incredible good, as for 2002? or 2003? Dont know, but HoMM4 has a lot of stuff beneath its cover.
Its fantastic to explore the worlds, get your characters in shape, build up your army, little by little, fight the tactical battles, unlimited monters, goodies, ..it is like a fairytale to play, just wonderful!! This would have been the 10, but the is one serious problem, after playing HoMM4 for a while. The AI, computer always tries to build up a very strong army with huge numbers, and then take cities one by one,..not very intelligent. And characters do not evole anymore at the end. But the game is worth a try, because its made with so much dedication. Good work. |
Jagged Alliance 2: 10/10 points |
I give JA2 a 10. Why?
Puh, just a short answer, because it makes you love the damn weapons, even if you dont like any, just like me! But all JA2 is about, is weapons, MG, Pistol, launchers, knife, tools, bombs, etc, etc. Nearly every kind of weapon has been taken into JA2. Also their use and effects are done very accurate. The other side of JA2 are the fancy characters, their values, their habbits, just unique. All this brought together makes a terribly good strategy and tactical warfare game, with a lot of things to explore. But if you get stuck just a little bit into JA2, man...I didnt evade anymore, just had to play it right to the end. JA2 is definitely a trap! Caution! |
Jagged Alliance 2 - Unfinished Business: 6/10 points |
Unfortunately too short, I was a little dissatiesfied, but...sh.. happens. |
Neverwinter Nights: 10/10 points |
This is absolutely the brilliance I have expected from the year 2000 on. Graphical detailed, interesting, colorful, immense and brilliant. Even the option to pause gameplay at every moment with space, is absolutly remarkable. Only things somehow the linear gameplay, i mean it is still somehow linear, not very, but noticeable. All together, this is another step forward in real RPG game playing. Go and play it, strongly recommended for all Ultima Top-Down-View Ultima experienced players!!
for NW2 i wish to see more interaction with the nature, like fog, swimming, jumping, climbing and so on. And on the harder level the possibility for a more detailed combat, eg. to make a monster loose his weapon with a direct hit on his hand. |
