In a nutshell: Well, if you thought the latest installment of Civilization had too much complexity, and what you really wanted was something where you could get right into the combat and focus on it + a streamlined version of city management, then Age of Wonders 2 might be of interest (provided they prefer the fantasy milieu rather than realistic). For anyone with a liking for turn-based strategic combat, ditto. For anyone who enjoyed the first one, this is a no-brainer: just get it. With two demos out and a low price-tag if you do a bit of searching (30 bucks!), the gameplay and longevity in Age of Wonders 2 make it a keeper.
