Demise 1.01 Interview @ WithinGames

WithinGames has conducted an interview Pharaoh Productions' CEO David Allen about the resurrected Demise and its upcoming release 1.01. However, this bit I read makes it not very interesting for me, as I own the 'old' version:
(2) With releasing v1.01 you´re going to put up a new purchase-system. Will there be any support for former released versions?

D.A.: Unfortunately not, 1.01 will be a stand-alone release that will need to be purchased by anyone who wishes to play the new version, or patch to future versions of the product.
