Neither a sequel per se, nor an attempt to supplant the original, this upcoming release is an alternate form of the long-running game. Bumping the timeline forward 500 years, EverQuest II enters Norrath after a series of calamities have split the land into bite-size continents. Players will get their feet wet in the opposed cities of Queynos and Freeport (citizenship in either depends on tendencies towards good or evil) before venturing out into the much wider realms via planned online and retail expansions.
