Thanks to Silviu from Computer Games Online Romania for letting us know that he and crew have put up a review of Neverwinter Nights. It's in English and BioWare's latest receives a very respectable final score of 95%.
Here's a bit from the intro:The RPG genre, action or adventure based, is one of the most beautiful and most appreciated from all the computer games history. Its complexity, its thrilling action or its unsolved mysteries often create a unique, breathtaking style. But any RPG, like most games anyway, is based on a story and once you've finished the game, the appeal for the single-player mode diminishes. Maybe this is one of the reasons for this MMORPG expansion we are witnessing nowadays. The fact is that any online game implies a monthly fee. But, what if you can play each time another adventure without being forced to pay indefinitely? Wouldn't that be great? Bioware wondered the exact same question and the result is beyond our expectations. We now have Neverwinter Nights. The ones that named it "just another Baldur's Gate 3D clone" are making a huge mistake because they did not realize the potential this game has and they considered just the single-player campaign, which, in my opinion, and this should shock you, doesn't count. Until now, we had single-player games with the multiplayer mode included. Now we have a multiplayer game with a single-player mode included. |
