Nevrax announces the open beta release of its futuristic MMORPG due to launch in June 2004

Paris, France - (13, April 2004) - After months of closed beta testing, players all over the world will now get the chance to step inside the mysterious world of Atys, known as the 'Living Planet' as The Saga of Ryzom enters the first phase of its open beta.

From April the13th 2004 Fileplanet/IGN/Gamespy subscribers will exclusively be able to download the beta client from www.fileplanet.com until April 20th when the beta will be made available to all Fileplanet/IGN/Gamespy users.

To coincide with the download release, the open beta client for The Saga of Ryzom is also being distributed on DVDs in the May editions of leading European specialist PC gaming magazines: Future Publishing's PC Gamer in the UK and Joystick in France and Computec?s PC Games and PC Action in Germany. The DVDs will be available from 15th April in the UK, 26th April in France and 28th April in Germany.

Community relations and customer support for the beta will be provided by the Themis Group in the United States, MDO Entertainment for German and French speaking players and hosting will be provided by Jolt Online Gaming who will also provide community relations and customer support for English speaking players in Europe.

The open beta marks the initial outing of the beautiful desert domain, with its ornate towns and sweeping vistas that belong to the people of the Fyros civilization. The lands of the Fyros will be the first territory to be opened up on the new open beta, but eventually beta-testers will be able to play across the whole of Atys and experience the verdant jungles of the Zorai, the peaceful lake-lands of the Trykers and the majestic woodlands of the Matis, as well as journeying into the dark depths of the Prime Roots that exist below the planet's surface.

The desert landscape will also come with its share of new creatures for players to fight, craft from or merely watch as they go about their daily lives. These include the dangerous hyena-like Varynx, which can often be found hiding away from the scorching desert sun and the peaceful Lumpers that occur in large herds and have very tough, scaly hides that are perfect for turning into armour.

During the course of the open beta players will be able to enjoy all of the other creatures, features and experiences that this inspiring MMORPG has to offer.
