Speaking to Bloomberg News earlier this week, Michiro Sasaki, Square Enix's general manager for corporate planning, said the company was "considering" developing and publishing games for Microsoft's next-generation console, most commonly called the Xbox Next.

Though details were scarce, Square Enix's decision comes as Microsoft is aggressively wooing Japanese third parties to publish exclusive games for the Xbox and its successor.
