Lords of EverQuest has been examined at Video Game City. Their review awards a score of 7/10 and here's a snip:
The Real Time Strategy genre has become very crowded in recent years. A slew of new ones are released each year and we are all lucky if only one doesn’t suck. They aren’t all bad, but none of them present any new ideas, and when they do, the idea is often too gimmicky to be a defining feature. Lords of Everquest takes the world of Norrath and turns it into a battlefield of epic proportions. Massive battles and spell castings all represent the world of Norrath in true EverQuest fashion. If you hated that MMORPG, then please disregard it. While it is helpful to have some prior knowledge of the lore, it isn’t necessary to have a good time. It has everything fans will love and also things that RTS gamers will find exciting. The most touted new feature in LOE would be the leveling process. You can now take gain experience and take your troops into other missions, instead of leaving them all behind. LOE has its share of problems but this game is sure to become a favorite for fans and casual gamers alike.
