The official website for Caeron 3000, a MMORPG with a futuristic setting, has been updated after a long period of silence. Theri update tells you why they have had such a low profile lately:

The past several months have seen major changes for Caeron3000 at Magique productions. We've completely re-written the game engine from OpenGL based to Direct3D using DirectX 8.1. In addition to the conversion, we have added a lot of new features and fixed a lot of bugs from the original version. About 2 months ago we started releasing small game engine demos to our alpha testers to work out initial bugs in the new engine. Special thanks go to those people that participated in these tests since we were able to resolve a lot of early technical issues with the Direct3D code.

Now we are focusing on getting the first online test of a Caeron3000 game client since the c3kalpha142 build. Plans for this next test are as follows:

    - Game Server operational by 9/12/2001
    - Game Client operational by 9/22/2001

I will try to keep everyone posted on the status of these 2 tasks over the next couple of weeks.
