Herve Caen's desire to play with FOOL (Fallout Online) and the MMORPG market crawled just a little closer to reality with the release of Interplay's 3rd quarter 2004 results. In among the multi-million dollar losses was the news that Interplay had signed a publishing deal with Majorem for their massively-multiplayer RTS Ballerium. Not two months ago, Ballerium was put on hold due to a lack of funds - although it will be interesting to see if Interplay can actually find any money to get it going again. Here's a stirring snip from Herve:Commenting on the earnings and the Majorem agreement, Interplay Chairman
and Chief Executive Officer Herve Caen said, "We continue to operate in a
difficult transition period. This alliance with Majorem represents an
important first step in executing the Company's strategy announced earlier
this year to migrate to the massively multiplayer online gaming market, not
only with our own properties like 'Fallout' but also with third party content.
'Ballerium' has generated strong buzz online already, and we look forward to
leveraging this title." | Source: NMA |
