Microsoft Announces True Fantasy Live Online (Xbox) Discontinued

This just in from the old eToychest...

Today is a sad day. I just received word that Microsoft has announced that development of True Fantasy Live Online, the Xbox MMORPG by Level 5, has been discontinued. The game, which was announced way back in September 2002, was notably absent from E3, and inquiries to the matter stated that it was being pushed to a Winter release in Japan and a TBA release in the US. Now it appears as if nobody will get to experience this fabulous looking game. I still hope that development gets picked up at a later date, but often these ambitious projects are abandoned due to scope creep and an unwillingness to commit resources in light of other, arguably more mainstream projects. In this instance, the developers were unable to commit to meeting the Winter deadline, so the boom, as they say, was lowered.
