EDBIS RPG has posted a review of Deus Ex: Invisible War. It's a pretty positive article, although the AI is heavily criticised. Final score is a healthy 84% and here's a snip: Ion Storm aims incredibly high with Deus Ex 2, and it's no surprise that it falters. It gets points for sheer audacity, and the times it succeeds far outweigh the times it fails. All the problems with this game can't overcome its essential greatness. The atmosphere is stupendous. That a world like this could exist, and may to some extent exist today, adds to its delicious creepiness. Deus Ex 2 sometimes feels like it's telling us unwelcome truths about how much we control our lives and about the world we live in. The characters are fascinating, and you should be very careful whom you trust. Every single thing that happens is to some extent a secret; I don't even want to talk about the introduction. For all the game's faults, I love it still. |
