RPGDot Game Rating Machine

Volourn has rated the following games:

Arcanum - Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura: 7/10 points

A solid rp expereince taht with certain twinks would have been near perfect. Alas, as is, it is a good game.

Baldur's Gate: 9/10 points

The game that got me hooked to message boards. Just plainly fantastic.

Baldur's Gate - Tales of the Sword Coast: 8/10 points

A good expansion with one of the best dungeons in ANY game. Biggest weakness is that it doesn't continue its namesake's story.

Baldur's Gate 2 - Shadows of Amn: 10/10 points

Its only competitor is FO2. Brings the FR to life like no other game.

Baldur's Gate 2 - Throne of Bhaal: 9/10 points

Not as open as its namesake; but still a stellar story, and I was impressed how balanced the game was consideirng the levels involved. However, the main villain cost it a point so it doesn't rate as high as SOA.

Bard's Tale 1 - Tales from the Unknown: 7/10 points

Very solid game. Thumbs up.

Diablo 2 - Lord of Destruction: 5/10 points

Played a bit of it; was not impressed. Not as good as Diablo 1.

Divine Divinity: 4/10 points

The story started good; but the combat was too Diabloish for me and cause dme to quite. Character system is weak.

Dungeon Siege: 2/10 points

An awful game. The best thing about it are graphics, and music. Everything else just plainly bored me to death so I stopped playing it rather quickly.

Elder Scrolls 2 - Daggerfall: 1/10 points

Buggy, and crappiness DO NOT mix!

Eye of the Beholder: 1/10 points

I'd rather poke MY eye out than play this thing.

Fallout - A Post Nuclear Adventure: 9/10 points

Awesome role-playing game. You can be almost anything you want. One of the few non fanatasy games that has garnered my prasie. Biggest shortcoming is its length.

Fallout 2: 10/10 points

Virtually tied with BG2 as the best crpg ever created. Once you escape the first part; it gets on all cylinders, and never looks back.

Gothic: 3/10 points

I just wasn't impressed with this game. Not really worth a mention, imo.

Icewind Dale: 7/10 points

More nice work from BIS. A fine dungeon crawl with a better than average story on top of it. Thumbs up.

Icewind Dale 2: 7/10 points

A good dungeon crawl with fun combat, and some nice oppurtunities for fine interaction.I'm playing it as I type this, and am loving the experience.

Neverwinter Nights: 9/10 points

First off, my rating is best on your best/worst system. No game is worthy of a 9; but compared to most games NWN is damn good. Other than certain problems, the game's story and main npc are very entertaining. The theme of justice vs. revenge is also very good as well. The challenge is there as well - at least for, anyways. Definite thumbs up.

Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide: 9/10 points

A good, solid game. An improvemtn over the original in a few ways. The biggest weak points are the 4 artifact main quest, and ch2 is wholely dissapointing. The npcs, and the role-playing are done very well.

Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide: 7/10 points

Okay, and fun; but that's about it.

Planescape: Torment: 8/10 points

Deep game with unforgettable npcs. With a much better protaganist this game would rate even higher. Surely a gem.

Pool of Radiance: 7/10 points

A fun game. One of the better older dnd games. Well be remembered for a long time. Too bad the same can't be said for its predecessors.

Pool of Radiance - Ruins of Myth Drannor: 1/10 points

Two words: Utter crap.

Return to Krondor: 6/10 points

A fun little game. Not overly impressive; but definitely have seen worst.

System Shock 2: 4/10 points

I picked up this game 'cause carious people said it had engrossing story; however I didn't get far into it before I stopped playing as I just found the story uninteresting to say the least.

The Temple of Elemental Evil - A Classic Greyhawk Adventure: 7/10 points

Could have been, and should have been better.

Ultima 7 - Serpent Isle (Sequel): 7/10 points

Good; but not as good as Ultima 7 Part 1.

Ultima 7 - The Black Gate: 7/10 points

Nice wide open game where you can do almost anything you want. May be an older game; but very good. Worthy of prasie indeed.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines: 8/10 points

This is a good game that should have been a great game. I feel kinda dirty giving it a score as high as this; but meh. It has fantastic characters, grat graphics, wonderful sounds, and oodles of atmosphere. The role-playing is also solid; but thats to break down espicially in the ending sequences after an infamous taxi ride. That, along with the various bugs and espically the frame rate slow down which can sometimes make combat seem impossible due to not being able to attack at all; it's actually mazing I finsihed the game. Overall, I like the game. I really wish I can love it though.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption: 1/10 points
