(NasdaqNM:IPLY - news), which makes software for computer games, said on Tuesday it is in talks aimed at selling the company but no deal is imminent. The Irvine, Calif.-based company said its talks with an unidentified party have included a buyout price that reflects ``a modest premium to the holders of common stock from the average trading price over the last 20 trading days.'' Interplay shares finished at $3.11 on the Nasdaq last Friday. The stock has a 52-week high of $4.03 and a 52-week low of $1.31. For the quarter ended March 31, Interplay reported an operating loss of $7.7 million on net revenues of $17.3 million. I just have seen the final dismantling of my long-time favourite company Origin, which has been sold to EA in 1993. On the other hand, I always wondered, how Interplay could survive with the yearly losses they reported... We will keep you updated.
