The 'Guild Wars' previews continue to flow in, with a second (?) one from NL Gaming:Lets start with that point I mentioned about no monthly fees. This is a major selling point for me, I love to play games and collect characters and items without being rushed into anything or pressured into getting “my moneys worth” by playing x number of hours a month. There is another difference I want to point out here, in many MMORPG’s players are all in the same gaming environment at the same time. In Guild Wars, when you are in areas, such as towns and cities, you can interact with other human players (there are actually multiple copies of the same areas and the game allows you to switch between them to join up with your friends). Once you step outside these safe area the game switches to a world that is only inhabited by you and your fellow party members. In other words, the only human players in the world are now you and your party members. The only downside is that you have to make sure you form your party before you leave town, or you will be all alone. |
