Whenever a new console arrives on the scene, there absolutely needs to be a game or two that makes some potential buyers drop their skeptical “Why do I need a new system?” guard and happily drop some cash in order to dive in and have a completely new gaming experience not seen previously. For my money, the one Xbox 360 game that knocked me off my feet was the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Bethesda Softworks is hard at work reinventing the role-playing genre as we know it while making this new entry the most accessible to date. From the absolutely stunning visuals that bring every inch of the game world to life to the reworked combat system, Oblivion is shaping up to be even more groundbreaking than most of the other titles arriving in the 360’s launch window.
