The classic of the Heroes line, it still seems to me to be heavily in favor of magic users. The balance in the first Heroes installment seems to be diminished here. BUT, all the new features, new monsters, the ability to upgrade, and the beautiful music make up for this. Though I like the balance of the first one, this title is a step forward in other ways. |

The best of the Heroes series IMO. Somehow, I didn't get into HoMM3, neither into HoMM4. |

I spent many more hours playing this than I should have. Any fan of both the Strategy and RPG genres owes it to themselves to check this one out. |

HoMM games are overated. I feel Warlords and MoM are far superior turn based games. Disciples 2 as well. |

Tedium sets in way too soon. Found nothing compelling me to continue on. Nice map graphics, though. |

Together with the Fallout series Heroes 2 is the most addictive gaming expereince I've had and play still today. I never got into Heroes 3 mostly bcz my friends also still plays Heroes 2 and makes maps to it. But I guess I would love the 3rd installment to. A fantastic game with a wonderful and cozy fairytale feeling to it. Playing Heroes 2 is like sitting in your rockin chair in front of an open fire and thinking about fond memories in your past. Or something like that. =) |
