Throngs of rabid EverQuest fans descended on the Las Vegas Hilton from April 1-4, 2004, for Sony Online Entertainment's fifth anniversary celebration of the game's initial release. Having garnered thousands of devoted players since its launch in 1999, EverQuest is widely regarded as the de facto standard in the massively-multiplayer online RPG field. With seven expansions, a handful of console-based spinoffs, and a huge sequel on the way later this year, EverQuest is still going as strong as ever.
