GamersInfo has an interview on Keepsake:GamersInfo.net: Dragonvale Academy seems like it would be an obvious choice for an adventure game - a beautiful landscape and magical building where students learn the art of magic and working with dragons. But, I'm not aware of any "true" adventure game that has used this setting in the past. Why do you think it's been so long in coming? And what have you done to make Dragonvale Academy truly come alive?
Yves Bordeleau: It wasn't there before simply because Wicked Studios didn't exist at that time ;) Seriously, I think that the whole Adventure genre was more or less stuck in a particular mold for a long time. What we tried to do with Keepsake is to revive the old medieval / fantasy mood that was in the oldies like King's Quest and Kyrandia series… but with a brand new twist. I can say that we were also inspired by books and movies like The Lord of the Rings and other fantasy works. |
