Gamitopia has an interview with Steve Escalante from Fighting Legends, the upcoming MMORPG which is currently in beta (and if you check out our "at a glance" link above, you'll find our own experience from that beta there). Here's somethíng from that interview:

    Gamitopia:
How did you come up with the idea for Fighting Legends?

    Maximum Charisma Studios:
Brandon and I have been tagged as co-lead designers, but I think we would both be the first to say there was tons of designers on Fighting Legends, we just happened to help manage it. It was really a group effort. Sean and I had hashed out many different ideas from about May '99 to November '99. But in November we had a weeklong design meeting where the founders of the company went to the mountains and brainstormed, argued, bantered, and bartered for the game we all wanted to do. At the end of the week we had the core nugget of Fighting Legends. While there have been numerous changes to the design, the core nugget of the game has remained intact. Most of these changes were made on this basis…will the game be completed by November if this is in here? If yes, proceed. If no, no can do. Some of the ideas that get nixed are great ideas, but then again, you have to save some stuff for the cool expansions.
