IGN has posted a preview of Snowblind's/Sony's 'EverQuest'-based 'Champions: Return to Arms' for PS2 which is the sequel to 'EverQuest: Champions of Norrath':Earlier this year, much earlier, we saw Champions of Norrath: Realms of Everquest come out on the PS2. The folks at Snowblind had brought their engine from Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance to Sony Online Entertainment and created the most kick-ass modern rendition of Gauntlet ever. With five different kinds of characters and a long game that can be played solo, with others on the same PS2, or with others online (although not without its own problems there) this was one of the best ways to scratch your hack 'n' slash itch for a good long time. Not forever, of course, and that leads us to the sequel, Champions: Return to Arms. With new features in pretty much every department this game is more and more and, right, more on top of that. To figure it all out we took the game for a spin to get a handle on what this all adds up to. |
