After going on a brief tangent with URU, Myst IV: Revelation returns to the story of Myst's core characters, including Atrus (once again played by series co-creator Rand Miller). However, much time has passed since you last assisted Atrus in Exile -- it's 10 years later (20 years since Myst), and Atrus and his wife Catherine are trying to decide what to do about their sons Sirrus and Achenar. The two were left imprisoned for their misdeeds at the end of Myst, and the parents are divided on the topic of if they should finally release the sons from their respective prison ages.
